Robert W. Manning

Robert W. Manning, 84, of Atlantic Beach, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, at his home.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Pilgrim Home Free Will Baptist Church, 5802 Wyse Fork Rd in Dover with Rev. Jimmy Sowers officiating.

Robert was a hard worker, and as the owner or R&J Trucking, he was dedicated to his business and employees. One of his enjoyments was walking the streets and neighborhood of the North Kinston Avenue area in Atlantic Beach.

He is survived by the love of his life, Kaye Odom, of the home; daughters, Theresa Sowers and husband, Jimmy, of Kinston, NC and Carole Hollingsworth and husband, Paul, of Terry, MS; sons, Dexter Manning and girlfriend, Miriam Seymour of Morehead City, NC and Morris Manning and girlfriend, Bonnie Foy, of Kinston, NC; grandchildren, Christy Burkett and husband Brian, John Sowers and wife Katie, Ashley Andrews and husband Joseph, Keegan Ellzey and fiancée Brittany and Cassidy Davis; and great-grandchildren, Noah Burkett, Sarah Burkett, Kacen Sowers, Brantley Sowers and Charlie Andrews.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Cuervo and caregivers, Bonnie Foy, Tracey Hardison, Debbie Thompson and Lana Horne.
