Robert E. Lee Jr.

Robert E. Lee,Jr., 69, of Morehead City, passed away Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Carteret General Hospital.

A funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr.John Pollock officiating. Interment will be 2:00 at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern.

Robert attended St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He spent four years in the US Air Force where he trained in aircraft maintenance and jet engine repair and maintenance. This led to a career at The Fleet Rediness Center East (FRCE), Cherry Point, where he was Production Supervisor for Engine Overhaul and Repair. He was most proud of his involvement with the Presidential Engine Support Program. He was a building contractor after his retirement. He was President of the New Bern Jaycees and received a number of Distinguished Service Awards in his younger years, was a Mason and belonged to St. John's Lodge in Beaufort. He was an investor and President of the Board of Directors for Memories Beach Club. His great love and passion was his involvement as a Member on the Board of Directors for the Carteret General Hospital's Cancer Center Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of sixteen years Jane Daughety Lee of the home: son Robert E. Lee, III of Carteret County: step-son Patrick Moye and wife Kerri of High Point: five grandchildren Robert E. Lee, IV, Chasen Michael Lee, Adam Moye, Alaina Moye, and Nathan Moye: two brothers Donnie Lee and wife Karen of Greenville, and Stacy Lee and wife Stacy of Jacksonville: maternal aunt Betty Jean Frances and husband Lokie, maternal uncle Tommy Cobb and wife Bert: and beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert E Lee and Doris Cobb Lee, first wife Janice Tripp Lee, son Michael Tripp Lee, sisters Linda Lee Haines and Betty Jo Lee.


Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 Friday at Munden Funeral Home.
