Robert "Bob" Greer Holloway passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016, in Morehead City, North Carolina.

Bob was born in Elkin, North Carolina on May 10, 1935, to Lester Holloway and Emily Lyon Holloway.

He graduated from Elkin High School, then entered the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. After being discharged, he completed his education at Guilford College, Greensboro, North Carolina.

After a long career with Island Creek Coal Company, he retired to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina, where he enjoyed many years of fishing and golfing. Bob was loved by many, and was respected for persevering through trying health issues.

Bob was formerly married to Ruth Click Holloway and had two children, Lynn Holloway Mosier (David), and Greer Holloway Begbie (Doug). He is survived by his daughters as well as a sister, Lestine Holloway Hutchens (David); brother, Stephen M. Holloway (Diane); grandchildren, David Mosier III, Memrie McConnell (Scott), Jenna Begbie, and Christopher Begbie (fiancé, Nicole); nephew, John Hutchens (Kelsey); nieces, Elizabeth Hutchens and Emily Urban; and great- grandchild, Luke Holloway McConnell.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 11:00 am. The service will be conducted by Dr. Bill Johnson, at Elkin Valley Baptist Church, Elkin, North Carolina.
