Robert “Bobby” Taft Fodrie, 73, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A memorial service to honor Bobby’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 17th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. David Bratton. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.

Bobby was born on December 29, 1950, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Richard and Elizabeth Fodrie. Growing up in the Core Creek area, Bobby attended Core Creek United Methodist Church and later in life he attended Salter Path Methodist Church, where he enjoyed his church family.

A proud patriot, Bobby dedicated himself to serving his country with honor in the United States Navy. After his military tenure, he embarked on a successful 25+ year career as a skilled heavy crane operator with Civil Service.

In his leisure time, Bobby found joy in collecting various guns and refining his skills with firearms. His passion for shooting served him well during his many hunting expeditions. Bobby was an amazing cook who enjoyed making delicious meals for his loved ones. Traveling was another highlight of his life, always ready to explore new destinations. Sunday drives were a cherished pastime, taking nice long rides, no destination or rush, just enjoying the scenery.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Valerie Moore Fodrie, with whom he was just 2 weeks away from celebrating their 42nd anniversary. Bobby is also survived by his daughter, Rachelle Hall Bonicelli of New Bern, NC; son, Robert Victor Hall of Kentucky; brothers, Dickie Fodrie of Van Wert, OH, Cecil “Butch” Fodrie (Madelyn) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and John “Johnny” Fodrie (Betty) of Beaufort, NC; grandsons, Collin Easton Oliver and Kyler Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
