Robert Dean Willis

Robert Dean Willis, 54, of Davis, passed away Friday, February 19, 2021, at Carteret Health Care.

A celebration of Robert’s life will take place at a later date.

Robert was born on May 11, 1966, in Davis, to the late Jack and Jean Saulmon. As a lifelong resident of Davis, he appreciated living on the coast where he worked as a commercial fisherman. Robert loved his livelihood because being on the water was second nature to him. Being the outdoor man that he was, he also loved hunting and was able to use his skill to guide numerous duck hunts Down East. He not only enjoyed the hunt but was happy to help others in a sport that he enjoyed so much.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Smith and husband Gregory of Beaufort; brother, Tony Saulmon and wife Laura Alice of Sea Level; twin grandsons, Thomas and Tyler Polizzi; and best friend, Timmy Huffman of Davis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special aunt, Virginia Willis.
