Robert Thomas Black

Robert Thomas Black, 75, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home.

Robert was born on February 21, 1947, in Elyria, Ohio, to the late Hilton and Nancy Black. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in active duty during the Vietnam War. Robert was a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, and was also a Bronze Star Recipient. After Robert’s military service, he was the owner of a building company that he operated for over 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Black of 47 years; children, Tiffany Vuich (Marcus), Tonya Bisig, Tricia Dickens (Tim), and Robert J. Black (Chrissy); grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle Bisig; and of course, his 2 fur babies and several grand fur babies.

The family would like to thank Community Home Care and Hospice of Swansboro for the amazing care and support.
