Richard "Rick" Teal Reece

Richard “Rick” Teal Reece, 71, of Morehead City, NC passed away on December 1, 2021, at Carolina East Medical Center after a long illness.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., January 14, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Morehead City, NC. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Rick was born on August 21, 1950, to Donald Brooks Reece and Gertrude Lois Anderson Reece, in Bremerton, Washington. In his youth he was known for his piano playing, quick wit, and love of hiking. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1968 and attended the United States Coast Guard Academy before pursuing other interests.

Rick married Arlene “Frankie” McGee on June 6, 1981, in the Washington DC Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Frankie preceded Rick in death in March of 2021.

Rick was also preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Donald Reece II of Morehead City. Survivors include brothers, Tom Reece of Spanaway, WA; Mark Reece (Peggy)of Silverdale, WA; sister, Kathy Reece Nelson (Scott) of Tracyton, WA.; sister-in-law, Joan Reece Brew of Morehead City; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved brothers and sisters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Morehead City Ward.
