October 2, 1931 — July 17, 2011

Richard Lewis Parrish, Sr., 79, of Cape Carteret, formerly of Raleigh, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at his home.
Richard had a lifelong passion for flying which began as a Civil Service test pilot during the Korean War. Upon his return home he opened Lewis’ Village with his father and later began N.C. He was a Thirty Third Degree Scottish Rite Mason and later to become a Shriner. Parrish was a compassionate man through his devout service to the Shriner’s Amran Temple in Wake County.
His loves in life were his family, working alongside his employees and the cockpit of an airplane. He was happy on the water and in the kitchen but most of all his greatest pleasure were his friends.
