Richard Lemons, 73, of Harkers Island, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.
The family is holding a memorial service 2:00 pm Saturday December 10, at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum.
Mr. Lemons served his country in the US Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles". He graduated from NCSU with a degree in Textile Technology. He worked for 35 years for American Enka/ BASF Corporation. He and his wife started work and retired on the same day at BASF Co..
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy Lemons of the home; two daughters, Suzanne Wieringo and husband Matt of Richmond and Jennifer Johnson and husband Scott of Ayden; two grandchildren, Ricky Johnson and Lily Johnson both of Ayden; two brothers, Jack Lemons of Henderson, NV and Mo Lemons of Corona, CA; and two sisters, Glenda Webber of Chattanooga, TN and Anne Lemons of Hayesville. He also leaves behind many good friends.
