Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Chisenhall

Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Chisenhall, 59, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Carteret Health Care.

Becky was born on February 3, 1965, to the late Larry L. Smith Sr. and Myrna Smith. With her father serving in the U.S. Air Force, Becky was born in South Dakota at the Black Hills Military Base. Their family later settled in Carteret County, NC, where Becky graduated from West Carteret High School.

Becky found joy in the simplicity of nature, with a particular fondness for being near the water, which brought her peace and happiness. She had a passion for fishing, always enjoying her time spent outdoors. Additionally, Becky's love for animals was profound; she had a special fondness for the playful nature of chickens and goats, which always brought a smile to her face.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Thomas “Tommie” Scott Chisenhall; sons, Thomas “Tommie” Scott Chisenall Jr. (Jessica) of Newport, NC, Lonnie David Chisenhall (Meredith) of Morehead City, NC, and Joshua Chisenhall (Olivia) of Newport, NC; siblings, Myrna Smith (Tony) of Elkin, NC, Larry Smith, Jr. of Newport, NC, and Janet Smith (Buddy) of Newport, NC; and grandchildren, Cutter Chisenhall, Cannon Chisenhall, Loftin Chisenhall, Hunter Chisenhall, and Gunner Edwards.

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her daughter, Annie Chisenhall Edwards, and niece, Elizabeth Smith.

As per her wishes, the family will celebrate her life privately. They take comfort in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
