Rayeford Lee Howard

Rayeford Lee Howard, 87, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Carteret Health Care.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Rayeford was born on January 21, 1935 to the late Walter and Laura “Bell” Howard in Newport, North Carolina.

He was a hardworking man who loved getting his hands dirty, particularly in the garden. Mr. Howard was an appliance repairman for many years and an active member of Cherry Point United Methodist Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Howard of the home; daughter, Christy Howard of Vermont; son, Lee Howard of Havelock; sister, Elsie Lewis of Pembroke Pines, Florida; brother, Bruce Howard and wife Yvonne of Newport, NC; also 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Rayeford was preceded in death by his parents; brother Linwood Howard; and daughter in law, Linda Howard.
