Philip Carl Schell

Philip C. Schell, 80, of Newport, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
His memorial service will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Newport Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Gary Carroll.
Phil’s life was devoted to helping others who were battling alcohol and drug abuse. Phil has been sober for 41 years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hazel Schell of the home; daughter, Tammy Steel of New Bern; son, Ed Schell and wife, Marcy of Brentwood, TN; and several grandchildren;
Phil will be reunited with their son, Jeff; parents, Frederick and Joy Schell; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and other family members, in an eternal life in heaven.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Newport Baptist Church.
