Perry Ryan Davis

Perry Ryan Davis, 74, of Beaufort, passed away Saturday, November 24­, 2018, at Carolina East Medical Center.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Harkers Island, officiated by Bishop Marcom. Interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.

Perry was born and raised on Harkers Island. He honorably served in the United States Coast Guard. He was an avid sports fan who especially liked the Cleveland Indians and Duke. He worked as a commercial fisherman and with the Ferry Division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He loved boats, fast cars, his friends and pulling pranks and jokes.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Branch and husband, Keith, of Smithfield; sons, Thomas Lewis of Beaufort, Peter Lewis and wife, Karen, of Elizabeth City and Beau Davis of Harkers Island; sisters, Mattie Davis Brooks of Morehead City and Lavinia Guthrie of Sanford; grandchildren, Andy Dixon, Dana Branch, Kristopher Lewis, Luke Lewis, Paul Lewis, Veronica Lewis, Patrick Lewis and McKenzie Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Thelma Davis; sister, Peggy Ann Guthrie; and half-brothers, Don Davis, Samuel Davis and Grover Davis.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Harkers Island.
