Percy D. Mason

Percy “P.D.” Mason Jr., 71, of Bettie passed away Friday, October 09, 2015 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 12, 2015 at Woodville Baptist Church.
His is survived by his wife Carolyn Mason of the home; one daughter, Katherine Pearsall of Otway and husband Steve Pearsall of Morehead City; two grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Pearsall and Lilly Nicole Pearsall both of Otway; one brother, Jeffrey Wayne Mason of Smyrna and wife Sue; two sisters, Donna Rose of Otway and husband Willie; and Sarah Warren of Beaufort.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy D. and Mildred Mason.
In the late1960s, P.D was a member of 7th Special Forces Group. He completed jump school at Fort Benning, Ga., and earned his green beret at the JFK Special Warfare School, Ft. Bragg, NC. Some of his lifelong friendships were made there.
He was a commercial fisherman for over forty years, and worked and made friends from Key West, Fla. to the shipping lanes off the coast of New York and New Jersey.
