Penny Darlene Metzger

Penny Darlene Metzger, 62, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Carteret Health Care.

Penny was born on April 6, 1960, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, to the late Harold "Jack" and JoAnn Hobson. She moved to Carteret County in the late 80's where she worked in various restaurants in the area. Most recently she worked as the Kitchen Supervisor at Flipperz in Emerald Isle.

Being in the great outdoors was something Penny always appreciated. Hunting and fishing were among her favorite past times, along with watching a great old Western.

She is survived by her sister, Sherre Betz and husband Ralph of Mooresville; brothers, Chuck Hobson and wife Amy, and Ricky Hobson, all of East Bend, NC; longtime friend and companion, Stephen Lee Hill of Emerald Isle; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Fred Metzger.

Penny will be laid to rest privately at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
