Paul Victor Ragan Jr., 72, of Swansboro, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at his home.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m., Saturday, October 22, at the family home, 313 Coldwater Drive in Swansboro.
Paul was born on July 15, 1950, in Bristol, Tennessee, to the late Paul and Bertha Ragan. He was a patriot and veteran of the United States Air Force who was willing to die for the country he loved. Vocal about his beliefs, he hated the evil happening within the Biden administration. He was a brilliant, self-taught mechanical electrical engineer who dedicated himself to his career in this field.
Paul believed nothing good was in his life without Christ, his faith was unwavering. He was devoted to his wife Joy, and loving his family was one of his many but greatest talents. Paul was a humble, strong, positive, faithful leader who was lovingly called “Pop” by his favorite people.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Ragan; daughters, Jennifer Ann Ragan Gillenwater and husband Steven of Peletier, NC, Melanie Kathryn Ragan Anderson and husband Nick of Blountville, TN, and Rebekah Christian Ragan Weaver and husband Trever of Kingsport, TN; sons, Jason Anthony Ragan of Sumter, SC and Mark Edward Ragan and wife Tiffany of Sumter, SC; sister, Cathy Lightener of Kingsport, TN; brothers, Johnny Eugene Ragan of Bristol, TN and Jeff Ragan and wife Wendy of Bluff City, TN; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
