Paul D. Mungo, 89, of Newport, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Riverpont Crest.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Coghill officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern.
Mr. Mungo served in the U.S. Army during World War II, he retired from civil service at Cherry Point in 1980.
He is survived by two step-daughters, Elizabeth Ava Lupton of Massachusetts, and Bonnie Francis DeCamp and husband Jerry of New Bern; three step-sons, Robert H. Lupton, III and wife Bernice and Bernard Bradley Lupton and wife Paula both of New Bern, and William Joseph Lupton of Falls Church, VA. daughter-in-law, Johnna Joyce of Newport; brother-in-law, Bill Bradley of Tarpon Springs, FL; 12 step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth B. Mungo, son, John Paul Mungo, and step-son, Bryan David Lupton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
