Retired Chief Petty Officer Paul Judson Lindsey, Jr., 66, of Newport passed away on March 4, 2017 at Carolina East in New Bern.

A funeral service for Paul is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Community Baptist Church in Newport with the Reverend Billy Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Cannady Cemetery.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Rita Lindsey of the home; daughters, Rebecca Lindsey of Arkansas, Serah Countess and husband Jeremy of Newport; sons, Daniel Lindsey and girlfriend Charity of New York, Derrick Lindsey and wife Theresa of Arkansas, Chief Petty Officer John Lindsey and wife Cara of Virginia; brother, William “Bill” Lindsey and wife Gwen of Texas; Nephew, Billy Jo Lindsey and wife Martha and their two children of Texas, niece, Darla Bessette and husband John and their two children of Texas; grandchildren, Addison Lindsey Martin of Florida, Alexia Locklear of Newport, Aryhanna Locklear of Newport, Zoe Lindsey of Virginia, Darci Lindsey of Virginia, Avery Lindsey of Arkansas and Addison Lindsey of Arkansas. .

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Judson Lindsey, Sr. and Patsy Pierce Lindsey.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Community Baptist Church in Newport.
