Paul Bottari, 62, of Beaufort, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 ath his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Massachusetts.
Paul served as a Sgt. in the US Air Force for six years, when he got out of the Air Force he was commissioned by President George H.W. Bush as Lt. Commander in the US Navy. He then served for 16 years serving in operation Dessert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He then reliquished his commission and joined the US Army and served for three years during Enduring Freedom.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years Rev. Rose Bottari of the home; two daughters Rachael Bottari Chan and husband Jarreth of San Fransico, CA, and US Army Sgt. Erika Fernandez of Miami, FL; a son US Army Capt. Martin F. Bottari and wife Kelly Connolly Bottari of Boston, MA; and grandchildren Raizo Chan, Christian Bottari, Brogan Bottari, Adilyn Bottari, and Brielle Bottari.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Constance Bottari, brother Robert Bottari, and sister Susan Bottari.
In lieu of flowers: donations for New Horizons at Crystal Coast Equine Therapy Center are greatly appreciated. This is a new ministry which is beginning where returning Soldiers can heal from PTSD through equine therapy. Children with disabilities will also be welcome.
