Patsy Irene Salter Walton

Patsy Irene Salter Walton, 71, of Broad Creek, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Robbie Strickland. Interment will follow at Broad Creek Community Cemetery.

Patsy was  born and raised in the Broad Creek community. She met and married the love of her life and made helping others her life’s work. She not only raised her own children and grandchildren, but others would grow up calling her “mom” and “maw-maw”. She was a loving and devoted caregiver that never met a stranger and always thought of others before herself. She will be remembered for her selflessness and her fried chicken.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Joseph Walton of the home; daughter, Kathy Pierce and husband Raphael of Newport; sisters, Sabra Hall and husband Ray of Newport and Rhonda Garner of Southport; brother, Shelton “Toby” Salter of Broad Creek; grandchildren, Jasmine McLelland and husband Jon of Havelock, Michael Walton and girlfriend Savannah of Havelock and Dante’ Stanton of Havelock; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends; and someone that she fondly thought of as her great-granddaughter, Autumn.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Iris Earl Adams; father, Fonnie Salter; and brothers, Dalton Salter and Wayne Salter.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
