Patricia "Pat" (Purchell) Lucey

Patricia Mae “Pat” Lucey, 68, of Morehead City, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016.

A memorial service is set for 1PM on Tuesday, March 29th at First United Methodist Church.  Her family will receive guests at her home following the service.  There will be a second service on Saturday, April 2nd at Casey's Funeral Home in Staten Island, New York, that will conclude with her internment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Pat was born in the Bronx, New York and resided in Ticonderoga, New York in her youth. She received a master’s degree in Education and devoted her life to teaching children, her passion being those of special needs.  Pat and her husband Jere raised their family in New Jersey before retiring to Moorhead City.  Here, Pat has been deeply involved in many charity groups and organizations ranging from the Elks, First United Methodist Church, and Family Promise. Outside of charity work, Pat’s greatest passion was being a “Grammy” both to her family and friends in the community.

She is survived by two daughters, Amanda and husband CDR Jeffrey Kremer II USN of Washington State, and Dr. Michelle and husband Dan Gibison of Maryland; son, Sean and wife, Alyson Lucey of Massachusetts; father, Fenton Purchell; brother, Jerry Purchell; and sister, Marjorie Brady. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jeffrey Kremer, III, Dominic Kremer, Erin Kremer, and Declan Lucey.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 45 years, Captain Jere Michael Lucey; mother, Marjorie Purchell; and a brother, Perry "Chipper" Purchell .
