Patricia Reitz

Patricia Ellen (Carraway) Reitz, 52, passed away peacefully in her Emerald Isle home with her loved ones by her side on Sunday, October 23, 2016, following a year-long battle with stomach cancer.

Tricia was born on April 26, 1964 to Michael and Mary Ellen Carraway in Detroit, Michigan.  She grew up in a very loving home with older sister Katie and younger brother Tim.

In 1982 she began attending Michigan State University, where she immediately met her future husband, Dan Reitz.  They were inseparable for the next 34 years.  Dan and Tricia were married August 9, 1986.  They have two daughters, Jacqueline, now 24, and Stephanie, now 22, who were the absolute pride and joys of Tricia’s life.

Tricia was an extraordinarily kind, generous, and loving woman.  She made significant contributions of time to several local charitable organizations, including the St. Egbert’s Home School Association and National Charity League.  She also loved to explore North Carolina’s beautiful beaches and go boating in its gorgeous local waters.

Tricia is survived by her husband, Dan; her daughters Jacqueline and Stephanie; her father Michael Carraway of Harbor Springs, Michigan; her sister Katie and husband Bill Casperson of Bronxville, New York; her brother Tim and wife Rene Carraway of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and dozens of loving brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews across the country.

A visitation will be held at Munden Funeral Home from 6 pm – 8 pm on Thursday, October 27.  The Funeral Home is located at 2112 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC  28557.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Egbert’s Catholic Church beginning at 11 am on Friday, October 28.  The Church is located at 1706 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC  28557.
