Patricia A. Jones, 71, of Newport formerly of Salter Path, went home to be with her Lord Friday, September 19, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center.

Patricia was a precious woman of God, she attended Praise International in Havelock. She was a commercial fisherman. Heaven is rejoicing another saint has come home, II Corithians 5:8 we are confident I say and willing to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.
She is survived by a daughter Laura Howard and husband Tom of Newport; a son Lee Jones of the home; a granddaughter Laura Marie Johnson of Dunn; and two dogs Little Marie and Belle.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold L. Jones, parents George and Laura Nixon, two brothers Elmer and Jessie Nixon, and two sisters Myrtle Baysden, and Ola Bell Cherry.
