Pablo Gomez Jr., 75, of New Bern, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at ECU Medical Center.
His funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Annunciation Catholic Church, presided by Rev. Jim Buchholz. The burial with military honors will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22nd, at Coastal Carolina Veteran's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through their obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Pablo was born on December 11, 1946, in Pozurrubio, Pangasinan, Philippines to the late Pablo and Librada Gomez. He proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Navy until his retirement. Pablo was a devoted member of Annunciation Catholic Church for 46 years. Among his many accomplishments was his love for his culture, he was the president of the Filipino American Association. Pablo loved his family and will be deeply cherished as a loving husband of 53 years, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia of the home; son, Jonathan Pastor Gomez (Olga) of Boyton Beach, Florida; sisters, Precy Gomez of California, Juliet Demetria of California, Evelyn Lima of California, Emma Francisco of California; brothers, Lino Gomez of California, Roger Gomez of Wilmington, Eddie Gomez of California, Renee Gomez of California; and grandson Evan Gomez.
