Oliver "O.C." Lawrence, Jr.

O.C. Lawrence, 86, of Otway, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Carteret Health Care.
His funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Otway Christian Church with Rev. Jack Mumford officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Carteret Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army in Stuttgart, Germany during the occupation following World War II. He retired from civil service at Cherry Point, and was a longtime member of Otway Christian Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Beacham and husband Steve of Beaufort; son, Tim Lawrence of Otway; brother, Roland Lawrence and wife Ellen of Otway; two grandchildren, Megan Nelson and husband Greg of Fort Mill, SC and Hayley Greene and husband Tommy of Morehead City; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Harper Nelson; also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Lawrence; four brothers, Theodore Lawrence, Jerry Lawrence, Manley Lawrence, and Keith Lawrence; twin sister, Ella G. Block; and two other sisters, Dollie Loyd and Ruby Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
