Odessa Williams Edwards

Odessa Williams Edwards, 91, of Beaufort, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Harborview Health Care Center.
A Graveside Service was held 2:00 pm Monday, December 31st at Gethsemane Memorial Park officiated by family friend, Joel Hancock.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Robbins, N.C. in 1921. She met her husband of 51 years, J.B. "Jim" Edwards while working at Holliday Hall on campus of North Carolina State University. She was a stay at home Mom until her daughter was in the 3rd grade when she went to work in customer service at the Wachovia Bank Main Branch in downtown Raleigh for the next 20 years. When she and her husband retired they moved to Bettie to be close to their daughter and granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Edwards Corwin of Bettie; two grandchildren, Caroline Corwin of Williston and Christian "Cricket" Corwin of the home; also several nieces, nephews, and family and friends.
Her husband, Jennings Bryan Edwards, Jr. preceded her in death in 2006.
