Norman “Paul” Hancock, Jr., 71, of Harkers Island, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport.
A funeral service with military honors will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Harkers Island Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Robbie Parnell officiating. A private interment will follow at Vergie Mae Cemetery.
Mr. Paul served in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1969 during the Viet Nam War. He retired from civil service at Cherry Point.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Hancock of the home; daughter, Denna Patrice Hancock of the home; son, Norman Paul Hancock, III of Benson; two grandchildren, Brittany K. Irvin and husband Willis of Harkers Island, and Brianna Patrice White of the home; three great-grandchildren, Brian Michael Irvin, Mary Sophia Irvin, and Michail Paul White; and aunt, Wanda Hancock of Pocomoke, MD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Paul Hancock, Sr. and Mary Louise Moore Hancock.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
