Noah Maudist Wheeler, 96, of Newport, died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Croatan Ridge Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday at Newport Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Carroll officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday at Snow Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Monty Wheeler of Newport; two grandchildren, Shannon Lee Wheeler and Noah Monty Wheeler, Jr. both of Newport; and two great-grandchildren, T'Auna Collins and Tra'Shaun Collins both of Newport.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee Wheeler and son, Roger Wheeler.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at the church.
