Nettie "MeMe" Phillips Hoyle

Nettie “MeMe”  Phillips Hoyle, 77, of Newport, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Carteret Health Care.

Meme was born on April 10, 1944, in Vidalia, Georgia, to the late Johnny and Christine Phillips. She was known for her strength including her strong personality. Meme enjoyed her friends at Ben’s Beach Bingo where she was employed for over 10 years. Her beloved dog, “Black Baby” was a true friend who she loved to dote on.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula HoyleVanicek and husband Fred of Newport; sisters, Lillie Edwards of Melrose, FL and Barbara Phillips; grandchildren, Christine Byrd, Jennifer Vanicek, Joseph Vanicek, and 3 other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Ronnie Vanicek, Ashla Haley Vanicek, Zoe Cowan, and other great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Hoyle.
