Narvil Ruric Gill, Jr. 83, a resident of Zebulon, NC, and for the last 25 years in Morehead City, NC, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was the owner of Gill Buick, Pontiac and GMC Truck for 49 years and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a lifelong member of Zebulon Baptist Church and served on various committees. Ruric was always the first to offer love and help to others. He loved everyone, especially family, but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his father, Narvil Ruric Gill, Sr. and mother, Grace Dean Gill, and sister, Victoria Gill Wootton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Sue Long Gill; his children, Martha Gill Pittman (Curt) and Narvil Ruric (Ric) Gill, III, (Gloria); sister, Fay Gill Horton (Glenn), and the loves of his life his five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and Morris, the cat.
He was a proud and active member of numerous organizations including The Amran Shrine Temple; Scottish Rite of FreeMasonry; Past Master of the Zebulon #609 Masonic Lodge of Zebulon, of which he was a member for sixty years; Past President of the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce; American Legion; Board of Directors of Central Carolina Bank of Zebulon; Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank of Zebulon; Past President of the Zebulon Rotary Club; Tar Heel Rams Club; Pontiac Regional Dealer Council; a charter member of the Amos Estes Tuesday Night Cabin Club, and a member of the Sons of Bojangle Club of Morehead City.
Visitation will be held at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. at Zebulon Baptist Church, Zebulon, NC with Rev. Jack Glasgow officiating. Visitation with the family will be held immediately after the service in the Church Fellowship Hall
