Nancy Jeanette Sides

Nancy Jeanette Sides, 77, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A memorial service to honor Nancy's life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20th at Community Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Billy Knox.

Nancy was born on August 3, 1946, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Otis and Mary Culpepper. Throughout her life, Nancy found joy in the simple things, particularly in the kitchen where she would whip up delicious meals. Her love for cooking reflected her nurturing and caring nature that she shared with her family. She spent countless hours crocheting beautiful creations and joyfully shared those with others.

A dedicated, long-time member of Community Baptist Church, Nancy found great strength in her faith. She had a deep appreciation for country and gospel music, finding comfort in the tunes that resonated with her heart.

More than anything, Nancy cherished her role as a loving wife of 58 years. She was a wonderful mother and supportive grandmother to her family who will miss her dearly.

Those remaining include her loving husband, Edward Earl Sides; daughters, Susan Sides of Newport, NC and Frankie Sides (Joel Hales) of Havelock, NC; sisters, Cathrine Chadwick (T.C.) and Marie Nobling (Larry), all of Mill Creek, NC and Theresa Brister (Al) of Newport, NC; brother, Otis Culpepper (Kathy) of Mill Creek, NC; and grandchildren, Victoria and Edward.
