Nancy Patricia Shannon

Nancy "Nitchka" Patricia Shannon, 75, of Albany, New York, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at her home in Havelock, North Carolina.

Nancy, known to her friends and loved ones as Nitchka, was born on October 26, 1947, in Albany, New York, to the late Helen Piniaha and William Thordsen. After high school and college, Nancy had a long career in finance, medical billing, and restaurant management.

Nancy had a great love of music, and you could be sure that she'd have on her favorite tunes while reminiscing on the good old days. Another undeniable interest she had was her unconditional love for all animals. Nothing brought her greater pleasure and fulfillment than having a furry friend nearby. Painting and collecting ceramics were her biggest hobbies. She was always fascinated with the various forms of art and was always happy to add to her collection.

Nancy valued time spent with family and friends, enjoying fun times, and making many happy memories. She especially enjoyed their weekly card games every Friday night.

Nitchka is survived by her daughters, Kelly Cross (Daniel) of Swansboro, NC, Christine Costantini (Anthony) of Cohoes, NY, and Tiphany DiMauro (Matthew) of Havelock, NC; grandchildren, Daniel Shannon, Frencesca Costantini, Dominic Costantini, and Madison DiMauro; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert Shannon.
