Nancy Worthington Burroughs

Nancy Worthington Burroughs, 93, of Morehead City, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family, Friday, March 30, 2018 at Crystal Bluffs Nursing Home.

The family will have a private service in Ayden, NC.

Mrs. Burroughs was a member of Davis Missionary Baptist Church, and very active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, church choir and other church activities. She was well known throughout Crystal Bluffs as “Mrs. President” of the Resident Council Club. She loved to cook and sew for weddings and parties. She retired as a Dietary Supervisor from Snug Harbor and at Sea Level Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Fulcher of Morehead City and Bea Reno of Staten Island, NY; son, Bruce Burroughs and wife, Karen, of Cape May, NJ; sisters, Peggy Harris Edwards of Raleigh and Selma Evans of Ayden; grandchildren, John Fulcher, Jr., Jarrod Fulcher, Tara Fulcher, Erica Copeland, James Burroughs, Ryan Burroughs, Brandon Burroughs, Jody Burroughs, Christopher Reno, and Joseph Reno; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her son, Merle Burroughs; parents, Herbert Henry and Bettie Stokes Worthington; brother, H.J. Worthington; and a sister, Mavis Foster.
