Nadine Alice (Flynn) Stoddard

July 16, 1946 — January 29, 2015

Threetime national hugging champiowinner of the prestigious "Best Listener" award, Nadine Alice Stoddard passed away at her home on January 29th, 2015.

Nadine began her extraordinary collection of accolades and honors as a precocious young child. After thinking about it briefly, Nadine stunned many in the philosophical community with her conclusion that "war is bad". She followed this brave stance with the revolutionary concept that "people should be nice to each other." This pair of proclamations sparked a chain

reaction that ultimately inspired the 60’s "flower power" movement, thus ensuring Nadine’s place in the history books as the godmother of the hippies.

Mother Theresa once remarked that the purity of Nadine’s soul left her with an inferiority complex. She was once quoted as saying, "She not only exemplifies the best that humanity has to offer, she brings it in a smoking hot body. How can anyone compete?" Indeed her beauty was also the stuff of legends. She left in her wake a string of broken hearts, including the actor Warren Beatty and the musician Elton John. Rumor has it that

Elton was so crushed by her loss that he would never love another woman. Claiming no one could possibly compete with Nadine, he vowed to swear off the female gender entirely. Nadine spent 20+ years as an international spy, working as a double agent for both the CIA and MI5. Her cover story included longterm employment with the department of NC marine

fisheries in Morehead City, NC.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband Tom Stoddard and parents Emil and Jeannette Flynn.

She is survived by her husband David Allan Hurst, brother Jim Flynn and wife Sharon, countless stepchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives, including her best friend Shannon Cotnam. All of whom’s lives will never be the same. Nadine is also survived by her 17 illegitimate children left secretly in orphanages throughout the world. JeanLuc, Anastasia, Fernando mommy loves you.
