Myron Taylor
September 8, 1937 — April 26, 2010
Myron B. "Flute" Taylor, 72, of Sea Level, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Duke University Medical Center.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Sea Level Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from NC State Ports Authority in Morehead City after more than 30 years of service. He was known as "The Scooter Man" around the down east community, logging in over 22,000 miles on his scooter. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed talking politics.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Sea Level Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Anderson. Interment will follow in Nelson Bay Cemetery.
He is survived by a son, Douglas Taylor and wife Tina of Wilmington; step-children, Roger Massie of New Bern, Linda Oliver of Beaufort, Brenda Fulcher of Harkers Island, Leona Tilton of Alvin, TX, Teresa Hopewell of Beaufort, Marie Gaskill of Sea Level and Gene Massie of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Stephen and Austin Taylor; nine step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Sea Level Missionary Baptist Church.
