MSgt. David "Dave" Andrew Hahn, USMC (Retired)

MSgt. David “Dave” Andrew Hahn, USMC (Retired) 65, of Havelock, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Carteret Health Care.

A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, officiated by Rev. John Thompson, Jr.

Dave was born on January 9, 1956, in Middletown, Connecticut, to Robert and Shirley Hahn and graduated from Granby Memorial High School, Class of 1974. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1975, and retired as a Master Sergeant on August 31, 1995. Dave later worked as a Biotech II at Fresenius Medical Care North America from November 27, 1995 until March 20, 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi S. Hahn of the home; daughters, April Tietjen and husband Michael of Oyster Creek, TX, Tina Fitzhugh and husband Mark of Fayetteville, AR, and Stephanie Tmetchul and husband Melaos of Havelock; mother, Shirley Hahn of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Jordynn Dodson, Kaitlin Tietjen, Madison Tietjen, Mark Andrew Fitzhugh, and Christopher James Fitzhugh; niece, Savana Phillips; nephew, Joshua Tmetchul; several other nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Essie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hahn; and fur babies, Baby Jo and Zoe Ann.

He fought a courageous battle against Leukemia, however his Father told him he need not suffer any longer and to come home. He is no longer suffering and will take up his post as our Guardian Angel.
