Mollie Elizabeth (Heath) Jolly

September 27, 1920 — April 25, 2015

Mollie Heath Jolly, 94, of Peletier, passed away, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her home.

The family will have a  graveside memorial service on Friday, May 1, 2015  at 11:00 AM at Grace United Methodist Church in Union, SC.

She was born September 27, 1920 in Union,SC to the late James Leon and Lilla Hollingsworth Heath.

She attended Winthrop College and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

After living in Charlotte, NC for a number of years she returned to her hometown of Union, and  was a long time active member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was very involved in her community, and was loved by everyone who knew her.  She loved to cook for others, and was instrumental in organizing many church functions, weddings, Cotillion Debutante  Balls, and was very young at heart with many friends that were 20+ years her junior. She was a caregiver to many, always offering a helping hand when needed. After the death of her husband and son, she moved to Carteret County, NC to live near her daughter. In her later years she continued to enjoy cooking, to the delight of her family and friends and also enjoyed reading many books on her Kindle. She kept in touch with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were located far away by means of her Facebook account and email.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Roberts Goines of Peletier and her longtime partner George Connor (Jack) Casteen of Goldsboro, sons, James Heath Roberts and wife, Linda, of Charlotte, and Alan Norman Roberts and wife, Cathleen, of Aix-en-Provence, France, step-son Thomas Claud Jolly, IV of Brevard, NC; 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Thomas Claud Jolly, III; and son, Steven Edward Roberts.

Memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 S. Church St., Union, SC 29379, The American Diabetes Association, or The American Cancer Society.
