Milton "Pete" Blanchard Morey Jr.

Milton "Pete" Blanchard Morey Jr., 76, of Morehead City, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

A memorial service to honor Pete’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 13th at First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Sarah Williams. He will be laid to rest privately at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport.

Pete was born on July 10, 1948, in Morehead City, NC, to the late Dr. Milton B. Morey and Patty Morey. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, he embarked on a successful real estate career in Raleigh.

On April 8, 1978, Pete married his sweetheart Linda, and in 1984 they relocated back to Morehead City. A devoted member of First Methodist Church, Pete served as an usher and contributed to the community with his unwavering faith. In his free time, his passion for golf kept him busy, not only did he enjoy the green, but he was always ready for a friendly competition.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Leslie Morey Whitmore (Aaron) of Morehead City; son, Chris Morey of Morehead City; brothers, Father Robert Morey of South Carolina and John M. Morey (Ellen) of Virginia; and 2 grandchildren, Gavin Whitmore and Cohen Whitmore.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Smith Morey in 2022.
