Mildred "Jeanine" Roberts Willis

Our dear mother, Mildred “Jeanine” Roberts Willis, sadly passed away on January 19, 2024, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her loved ones in Easley, SC, where she had made her home with her daughter and family members since 2017.

Jeanine was born on June 12, 1935, to the late Alec and Lena Roberts in Morehead City, NC, on the old Atlantic Beach Bridge in the back seat of her father’s car. Jeanine was raised in The Promise Land of Morehead City until her parents moved to the 1800 block of Shepard Street. It was there she would meet the love of her life, the late Harry Thomas Willis Jr., whom she would later wed and have two little girls… A love that would keep them together for 61 years until his passing on March 15, 2014.

Jeanine loved living near the water, she enjoyed traveling, home-cooked meals, being involved with her childhood friends, and being involved with her Church congregation at First Baptist Church in Morehead City.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debbie Willis Rannells (Mike) and Katherine Willis; granddaughters, Kandace M. Fulmer of Morehead City, NC and Ashley E. Eakes (Cody) of Easley, SC; grandsons, Anthony Thomas DeBruhl, Michael William Rannells, and Ryan Taylor Rannells, all of Easley, SC; and great-grandchildren, Landon Kaleb Eakes, Dawson Cole Eakes, Eveyln Jeanine Eakes, Carter James Rannells, Anya Grace Rannells, Liam Thomas Rannells, and Harrison Hux.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Jeanine was preceded in death by her Baby Brother Roberts, and her loving grandson, Christopher Matthew Moyer.

A private family service will be held at Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City.
