Michael "Joe Boy" Bruce Adams Sr.

Michael Bruce "Joe Boy" Adams, Sr., 67, of Havelock, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Carolina East Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday at Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Kelli Sorg and Rev. Joe Moody officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.
Joe Boy was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, and the owner and operator of Quality Plus Dry Wall.
He is survived by one daughter Paula Wood and husband Pat of Leland, NC; two sons Mike B. Adams, Jr., of Mebane, NC, and Chris Adams, Sr. and wife Stephanie of Havelock; eight grandchildren Melanie Sanders, Erica Adams, Christopher Adams, Jr., Joe Paul Adams, Lana Mary Adams, Nicholas Small, Carter Wood, and Charli Ball; one brother Johnny Adams and wife Frances of Carrollton, VA; three sisters Mary Meares and husband Sylvester of Hampton, VA, Rita Cummings of Hampton, VA, and Rebecca Little of Adams Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lena Adams, four brothers Frank Adams, Ernest Ray Adams, Bill Adams, and Jimmy Adams, four sisters Clara Adams Jones, Gwen Adams Bowser, Emily Adams Giesler, and Eva Adams Gillikin.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Oncology at Carolina East Medical Center 2000 Neuse Blvd. New Bern, NC 28561.
