Michael "The Mike Jones" Jones

“The Mike Jones”, Michael Dawson Jones, 63, of Emerald Isle, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Carolina East Medical Center.

There is no service or memorial for Mike, as per his request. He enjoyed the simple things in life up until the end and wanted the same for his death.

Mike was born in Warrington, NC to Jack and Mattie Lee Jones. He was a member of the Army National Guard of NC from 1972 to 1978.  He worked at Jordan’s House of Seafood for over 20 years. Mike made many friends and leaves behind lots of loyal customers who were like family to him.  Mike was a huge Wolfpack fan, enjoyed NFL games and was an avid golfer. He also never caught a fish he didn’t love to meet. His life in Emerald Isle was golden.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jennings; daughters, Amanda Jones of Raleigh, Jennifer Atwell and husband, Christopher of Raleigh; son, Christopher Jones of Wilmington; sister, Jackie Kitson of Arlington, VA; brother, John Jones of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Dustin Jones and Brittany Atwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mattie Lee Jones.
