Michael Hugh Salter,Sr., 61 , of Morehead City, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Salter was a member of First Baptist Church, he received Deacon Emeritus Award, was ordained to preach the Gospel, was a Sunday school teacher and a choir member, He enjoyed playing golf with his grandson and watching his granddaughter playing soccer.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at First Baptist Church of Morehead City with the Rev. Charles Royal officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Blackwell Salter of the home; daughter, Stephanie Salter Goodson and husband David of Jacksonville; son, Michael Hugh Salter, Jr. of Greenville; and two grandchildren, Trey Goodson and McKenzie Goodson.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at Munden Funeral Home.
