Meredith W. Martin

Meredith W. Martin, 68, of Newport, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at the University of North Carolina Hospital at Chapel Hill.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Gethsemane Memorial Park, officiated by Tom Hussman.

She is survived by her husband, David “Chip” Martin of the home; daughter, Marie Goad and husband Kevin of Newport; son, David Martin of Newport; sister, Mary Ann Floyd of Florence, SC; brothers, Bobby Ward of Lamar, SC, Richard Ward and wife Pam of Lamar, SC, Donald Ward and wife Janet of Lamar, SC, Mark Ward and wife Vickie of Hartsville, SC and Randy Ward and wife Sandy of Lamar, SC; grandsons, Trevor Goad, Chandler Goad and Tyler Goad; special family member, Philip Jones; and fur babies, Lucky and Ike.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee Ward and Cornelia Brunson Ward; brothers, Jackie Ward, Bubba Ward, George Ward and Danny Ward; and son, Eric Martin.

The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent, however, donations may be made in memory of Meredith to Camp Albemarle at 156 Albemarle Dr., Newport, NC 28570.
