Melva Lee Teachey

Melva Lee Teachey, 91, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Croatan Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, surrounded by her family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 7, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City and will be officiated by Reverend John Carswell. A  graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Riverview Memorial Park in Willard, NC officiated by Reverend Jimmy Johnson.

Melva was a loyal and active member of Parkview Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed the fellowship with her friends in the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Melva was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by many.

Melva is survived by her daughters, Linda Harrell and husband, Richard of Morehead City, NC and Georgia Condon and husband, Jess of Newport, NC; sons, Ken Teachey and wife, Judith of Willard, NC and Harry Teachey and wife, Diane of Willard; NC; sister, Tiny King of Jacksonville, NC; sons-in-law, Martin Rivenbark of Belhaven, NC and Harvey Prevatte of Willard, NC; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Annah Foy; and daughters, JoAnn Rivenbark and Patricia Faye Prevette.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 7, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Reconstruction Fund Parkview Baptist Church, 4738 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC 28557
