Mayola F. Murdoch

Mayola F. Murdoch, 97, of Beaufort, NC, affectionately  known to her grandchildren and many more as "Mama Maye", died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital.

Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at North River United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Murdoch is survived by her daughters, Florence Mann and husband Joe of Newport, NC, Patsy Murdoch and husband Julian Brown of Gloucester, NC and Rita Conner of Beaufort, NC; son, Robert "Bob" Murdoch and wife Vicki of Cary, NC; sisters, Julia Day of Morehead City, NC, and Eva Garner, also of Morehead City; grandchildren, Keith Taylor and wife Lee, Robert VanDyke, Lynn VanDyke, William Murdoch, and Allen Conner; and great-granddaughter, Colleen Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Fulcher; brothers, Joe, Robert, Howard, Linwood, Edward, and Carl Fulcher; husband, Robert C. Murdoch; son-in-law, Roger Conner; and grandchild, Harmony Conner.

The family will receive friends Saturday 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Munden Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the North River United Methodist Church, 2494 Hwy 70 East, Beaufort, NC 28516.
