Mattie Taylor Graham

Mattie Taylor Graham, 91, of Beaufort, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Pruitt Health Care in Sea Level, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Carteret Memorial Gardens in Beaufort.

Mattie was a retiree of the Carteret County School District. She was well known for her love of her family and church. Her passion for gardening was demonstrated in the raising of countless beautiful flowers throughout her life. She was also exceptionally gifted in a variety of crafts including beading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and woodwork. Her creations continue to be enjoyed by her friends and family.

Mattie is survived by her daughter, Glenifer (Dave) Fields of Prineville, Oregon; son, Dean (Jody) Graham of Beaufort; grandchildren, Austin (Emily) Graham of Stacy, Sullivan Graham of Beaufort, Scott Fields of Jupiter, FL, Rene (Thomas) Stemmerman of Prineville, OR, Jake Fields of Tamuning, Guam, Beau (Vanessa) Stackhouse of Hermiston, OR; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Marli, and Corbin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Loy Douglas Graham whom she married on Sept. 19, 1951; parents, Leroy and Ella Glen Taylor; brothers James and Warren; and twin sister, Mary.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
