Mathew Paul Rushing

Mathew Paul Rushing, of Newport, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.

Mathew was born on July 9, 1979, in Sulphur, Louisiana, to Frank Marlon Rushing and Katherine E. Rushing. He was a dedicated US Army veteran, serving a tour of duty in Iraq. He was also a member of VFW # 8986. Mathew will be deeply missed and cherished by his loved ones.

He is survived by his mother, Katherine E. Jones (Eddie) of Newport; daughter, Angel Marie Rushing of Sulphur, LA; sons, Ethan Levi Rushing of Sulphur, LA, Clayton Cayde Rushing of Clovis, NM, Jackson Henry Rushing of Clovis, NM; and his best furry companion, Buddy.

Mathew was preceded in death by his father, Frank Marlon Rushing.
