Mary Theresa Hill, 106, of Beaufort, died Monday. November 16, 2009, at her home on 609 Ann St., Beaufort.

Her funeral will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 21st, at First Baptist Church in Beaufort with Pastor Michael Fields officiating. Graveside service will follow at Ocean View Cemetery.

She was born November 27, 1902, in Beaufort, to the late Charlie Vernon and Daisy Beatrice Taylor Hill. She was a graduate of Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, NC and Miller-Motte College in Richmond, VA. For forty years, she worked as the secretary for the Carteret County Board of Education. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Beaufort.

She is survived by four nieces, Maria H. Clemmons, Virginia H. Swain, Shirley H. Vander Sys, all of Beaufort and Edna B. Oglesby of Havelock; fifteen great nieces and nephews, Anna S. Moore of Newport, Pattie K. Kittrell of Morehead City, R. Richard Klemm, Jr., of Richmond, VA, Pamela V. Humphrey of Greenville, J. Gregory Clemmons of Swansboro, Sandra C. Buller of Jupiter, FL, David B. Oglesby of Havelock, Diane O. Prather of Sugarland, TX, Thomas L. Oglesby of Red Springs, Thyra O. Beals, Marla Jean R. Newman, Linda R. Johnson, Charles Anthony Ross, all of Ottawa, IL, Kenneth J. Ross, Jr. of Harding, IL and Charles Elam of Wilmington; thirty great great nieces and nephews and twenty great great great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 pm Friday, November 20th at Munden Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 403 Ann St., Beaufort, NC, 28516.
