Mary Pauline Beacham Lloyd

Mary Pauline Beacham Lloyd, 85, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at her residence.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Tim Marriner. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

Born on July 5, 1933 in Beaufort County, North Carolina, she was one of six children to the late Albin Ansel Beacham and Myrtle Dixon Beacham.

Pauline was a true entrepreneur, making dresses for the local ladies in her community. She later opened and operated the “Minute Grill” in Conway, where her hamburger steak dinners were in high demand. She moved to Carteret County in 1976 and opened Pauline’s Drapery Shop. Her custom drapes and accessories were again in high demand. Her work is known from the beaches to the mountains and as far west at Colorado.

Being a long-time member of Glad Tidings Church, she had full faith in the home she would reside when she left this earth.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Edward Lloyd and wife Sandra of New Bern; daughter, Paula Martin and husband Fred of Conway; grandsons, James Lloyd of Winterville, Joshua Watts of Conway and James Ray Sonnier of Conway; sisters, Carol Mason and husband Worth of Beaufort and Frances Beacham of Newport.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
