Mary Lou Russell

Mary Lou Russell, 74, of Swansboro, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital.

Born December 31, 1935, in Oberlin, Ohio, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Hartley Broadwell and Dorothy Wolfe Broadwell. She graduated from The Ohio State University School of Dental Hygiene in 1956 and practiced dental hygiene in Wintersville, OH for 35 years. She loved watching her grandchildren, spending time with friends and cheering on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. A life-long volunteer, Mary Lou always put others first and donated her time to a long list of charities, most recently, The Hem of His Garment in Swansboro, NC.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Monday at Swansboro United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, Alan Russell and wife, Cris of Cedar Point, Laurie Hibson and husband, Pat of Naples, FL and Tim Russell and wife Melinda of Chesapeake, VA; brother, Howard Broadwell and wifeJean of Oberlin, OH and four grandchildren, Vincent, Courtney, David and Joey.
